From single piece to production: how rapid prototyping is changing the world
Rapid prototyping for some still is an unknown world to discover.
In the early 2000s those who used rapid prototyping technology had two needs:

- Bring down the cost of equipment for the production of the pieces

Rapid prototyping and in particular additive manufacturing technologies have marked a turning point not only in prototyping but also in production. The HP Jet Fusion 3D printing solution reinvents how you prototype and produce functional parts, delivering quality output, up to 10 times faster1 at half the cost.
HP Multi Jet Fusion uses a fine-grained PA 12 material that allows for ultra-thin layers of 80 microns. This leads to parts with high density and low porosity, compared to PA 12 parts produced with Laser Sintering. It also leads to an exceptionally smooth surface straight out of the printer, and functional parts need minimal post-production finishing. That means short lead times, ideal for functional prototypes and small series of end-parts.
